Clustered random sampling
Clustered random sampling is used to represent naturally occurring groups or areas of a given population
Clustered random sampling is a probability sampling technique where participants are randomly selected from naturally occurring groups or geographical areas. These naturally existing "clusters" exist in the overall population and are specified in terms of homogeneous characteristics that differ from other existing "clusters." These "clusters" are thought to possess a "cluster mean" that would differ significantly from other "cluster means." Once the "clusters" are identified, simple random sampling occurs in each "cluster."
