Bonferroni
Adjust for multiple comparisons by calculating a more stringent alpha value
The Bonferroni adjustment is a simple method for deterring increased experimentwise error rates when adjusting for multiple comparisons in applied statistics. Simply divide the alpha value, oftentimes set at .05, by the number of comparisons being conducted. For example, if you are comparing two independent groups on five different outcomes, .05/five comparisons = new Bonferroni corrected alpha value of .01. Research journals are requiring that adjustment for multiple comparisons be made before accepting manuscripts for publication, and the Bonferroni is a well-known and accepted methodology. Bonferroni is most commonly used when testing fewer outcomes that have been planned a priori.
